Introduction to AutoCAD Part 1 – CANCELLED

Please note: This course takes place over two consecutive evenings. 

This workshop will provide you with a basic introduction to AutoCAD (2D only) – no prior knowledge of CAD software is required.

By the end of this four-hour session, 2 consecutive evenings of 2 hours each, you will be able to use basic commands to draw shapes and lines, modify them, add annotations and dimensions to drawings and use AutoCAD in a practical way for any DIY project.

What to bring: Notepad with pencil and patience. Coffee is on us!

Instructor: Luc Pinard, Works at welding/fabrication shop in Whitehorse, Mechanical engineer technologist, 3 year Yukon resident, DIY enthusiast, Woodworker and Nice guy!

Intro to Creating 3D Computer Models

Before you can 3D print something, you need to create it on the computer! This class covers the basics of creating 3D models with Sketchup and an overview of the 123D product suite. All the software used is available for free and participants are welcome to bring their own laptops (or use the YuKonstruct computers).

This workshop is designed for people with no previous experience using drafting software.

About the Instructor: Chris Lloyd is a dedicated YuKonstruct volunteer and has a diploma in Architectural Technology and several years of professional experience with computer aided drafting and design programs.

Note: YuKonstruct only has six computer stations, so please indicate in your registration whether you will be using our computers or your own.

 

Intermediate SketchUp

Learn about textures, shape tools, boolean tools, layering and other functions in SketchUp.

 

This workshop is designed for people with previous experience using drafting software or who have taken the Intro to Creating 3D Computer Models workshop.The software used is available for free and participants are welcome to bring their own laptops (or use the YuKonstruct computers).

 

About the Instructor: Chris Lloyd is a dedicated YuKonstruct volunteer and has a diploma in Architectural Technology and several years of professional experience with computer aided drafting and design programs.
