Intro to Adobe InDesign

In this 3 hour introductory workshop, you’ll learn the basics of InDesign! This includes knowing when to choose this program over other design programs; opening and setting up your work-space; functions such as creating shapes, applying effects, formatting text, and placing photos; and exporting your file for professional printing.

After taking this workshop, you’ll know enough jargon to navigate through the program and create your own layouts! Some come join us at YuKonstruct to develop your skills in Adobe InDesign!

Please note: We ask that you bring your own computer (Mac or PC) and install the free 30-day trial of InDesign CC prior to the course. This can be downloaded here: The older version of this program will not be relevant in this workshop.

About the instructor: Erica Beasley is a graphics enthusiast who works extensively with design software in her day-job as an urban planner. She’s excited to share her skills and get you started with Adobe programs.

Intro to Adobe Design Software with a focus on InDesign

This Introductory workshop will help orient you to Adobe Design Software. You will learn basic functions, including: selecting the right program for the job, how to set up files, jargon that helps you to navigate the functions, editing and enhancing photos, and linking from InDesign to Photoshop.
Get started making your own layouts and learn how to make your photos pop!
