Introduction to AutoCAD Part 2

Please note: This course takes place over two consecutive evenings. 

This workshop will provide you with a basic introduction to AutoCAD (2D only) – no prior knowledge of CAD software is required.

By the end of this four-hour session, 2 consecutive evenings of 2 hours each, you will be able to use basic commands to draw shapes and lines, modify them, add annotations and dimensions to drawings and use AutoCAD in a practical way for any DIY project.

What to bring: Notepad with pencil and patience. Coffee is on us!

Intro to Small Metals Workshop

Learn the basic techniques of constructing small jewelry pieces in sterling silver including cutting, annealing, sawing, fold-forming, and soldering.
Come away from this workshop with new knowledge of small metalsmithing as well as wonderful handmade pieces including a pair of earrings, or a pendants. Instruction will include hands on studio demonstrations, individual attention, and group discussions.


This course is aimed at beginners interested in learning about web development. In this course, you will learn how to design and modify dynamic web pages using a combination of HTML, CSS and javascript. Using hands-on experience, you will become proficient at writing, styling and interacting with web content. You will then be able to create your own web pages using the tools learned.

About the instructor:
Thomas is a software developer specialized in user interfaces. Since 2007, he has worked on several projects including websites, WordPress webpages, apps, trading platforms and much more. You can often find him at YuKonstruct working on personal projects in the woodworking shop or teaching workshops (laser cutting, Corel Draw). With a background in science and a strong interest in astronomy, he is currently developing an allsky camera that streams northern lights in real time.
We can provide laptops for the course to people who don’t have their own machine.

Intro to Adobe InDesign

In this 3 hour introductory workshop, you’ll learn the basics of InDesign! This includes knowing when to choose this program over other design programs; opening and setting up your work-space; functions such as creating shapes, applying effects, formatting text, and placing photos; and exporting your file for professional printing.

After taking this workshop, you’ll know enough jargon to navigate through the program and create your own layouts! Some come join us at YuKonstruct to develop your skills in Adobe InDesign!

Please note: We ask that you bring your own computer (Mac or PC) and install the free 30-day trial of InDesign CC prior to the course. This can be downloaded here: The older version of this program will not be relevant in this workshop.

Intro to Adobe Design Software with a focus on InDesign

This Introductory workshop will help orient you to Adobe Design Software. You will learn basic functions, including: selecting the right program for the job, how to set up files, jargon that helps you to navigate the functions, editing and enhancing photos, and linking from InDesign to Photoshop.
Get started making your own layouts and learn how to make your photos pop!
