Cole Parsons’ bio:

Cole is currently a third-year carpenter working for a small company here in Whitehorse. He graduated from a 2-year carpentry program in Nova Scotia in 2017. Carpentry is his passion and he spends the majority of his time in the shop when not at work. His goal is to make every single piece of furniture in his home, except his couch. Cole loves teaching people new skills and opening their hearts up to the love of woodworking.

Do I need to have woodworking experience to join this program?

Nope! This program is designed for absolute novices. If you’ve never stepped foot in a woodshop before, this program will meet you where you’re at.

I have some woodworking experience, will this program be too beginner for me?

Unlikely. The program classes and projects are designed to build on the skills of each successive class.

What if I don’t complete my project in the class?

You will have unlimited access to the Makespace woodshops during the course of this program, so you can catch up and practice your new skills between classes.

I love this idea but woodworking isn’t my thing, are you planning Maker Academies with other skills?

We sure are! Stay tuned for a Sewing Academy and a Metal Academy. All of our Maker Academies will cost the same, and will take place on Saturdays.
