Yukonstruct and The MindFuel Foundation are excited to host STEAM Saturdays – a fun 2-hour workshop that will literally ‘light up’ your youth’s morning. Bringing electronics, design, and sewing together, your creative STEAM-loving youth will make their own wearable accessory. 

Through this guided, hands-on activity, youth will learn step-by-step how to embed wearable tech into fabrics to make a wearable tech accessory – a tote bag that lights up and can be used at any time and anywhere. 

Learning outcomes: 

• Youth will learn the basic parts and functionality/current flow of a circuit. 
• Youth will learn the foundational process to embed electronics/wearable tech with fabric and textiles. 
• Youth will design their own pattern or use a stencil pattern, and sew a LED circuit on a tote bag, creating their own wearable tech accessory.    

All supplies will be provided for each participant to create one light-up (and washable) tote bag.
