Chainsaw Maintenance

May 22, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

One of the key components of safe, productive chainsaw use is proper maintenance.  This course teaches daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance for your chainsaw, as well as how to adjust your maintenance schedule when you are only using your saw occasionally.

This course is for the new chainsaw user or the experienced user can renew and solidify their maintenance skills. We cover fueling, sharpening, cleaning, safety feature inspection, trouble shooting, and much more.  Equipment provided, or you can bring your own.*

*Participants to wear own boots and gloves

About the instructor: Raven and Leaf Chainsaw Training is a privately-owned small business that provides saw safety training programs.  Rebecca and Erin courses are based on their combined 30 years of saw use within the firefighting and fuel management fields, and informed by extensive standard training in Alberta through the Wildland Trainer’s Association and BC through WCB/Forest Service saw training. In the Yukon, there is currently no Territorial chainsaw certification recognized.  Their approach is to train safe, responsible operators.

Please bring your own chainsaw (running or not). If you would like to take this course and do not own a chainsaw, please contact the workshop organizers at workshops@yukonstruct.com

Max: 8, Min: 6| Cost: $45 for YuKonstruct members, $65 for non-members
