Chainsaw 101

Tuesday March 8 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

This is a course for the new chainsaw user, or the home chainsaw user who wants to increase their skills.
Participants will learn the principles, operation and maintenance of a 2 stoke gasoline chainsaw. We will discuss fuel, oils, and how the power is delivered from the fuel tank to the wood being cut. Participants will learn reasons why they fail, types of failures, preventative maintenance and how to repair. Participants will partially dismantle their chainsaw, clean and inspect for issues as well as perform some routine maintenance and sharpen.
Meet Your Instructor:
Greg Guttman is the Service Manager at Listers Motor Sports. He has worked there for 30 years. He is skilled in chainsaw service, maintenance, operation and safety.

COVID-19 protocol:

  • We will ask you to wash your hands as soon as you enter the building. After you wash your hands, we encourage you not to touch your mouth or eyes while in the building.
  • Masks are required.
  • Our instructor will be wearing a mask when social distancing is not possible.
  • Covid 19 vaccine Passports will be checked at the door and are required to participate in the workshop.
  • Please stay home if you are sick or have a fever, cough or shortness of breath.
