Andrew, how did you get involved with YuKonstruct?

I was interested in teaching computer programing but was unable to find a location to do so (that was affordable). So I kept putting out feelers to see if I could figure it out, and someone heard what one of the other Core Team members was trying to do and sent him my way.

What do you like most about YuKonstruct being up and running?

Seeing all the things people make!

Why should people become YuKonstruct members?

The ability to be around like minded people alone is worth being a member but lets not forget the access to cool tools, expertise and a safe work space!

What do you like to make?

Everything, but I mostly play with low voltage electronics and computer programming stuff. However I’d love to build a robot of some kind! 🙂

What inspires you to make things?

Frustration is my biggest inspiration!

What has been your favourite project so far?

I’m super excited about the keyless entry project for YuKonstruct! It combines electronics and programming, which are my two favourite things. I also like the fact that it’s a project that will actually be useful.

I’m still working on it now and I’m looking for people who want to learn or help me with this project. So let me know if that’s you!

Meet the Makers is a series of interviews featuring awesome folks from our community who are helping to build YuKonstruct. Come drop by any Tuesday between 7-8:30pm!
